Paving a continuous path from homelessness to independent, sustainable living
First Stop, Inc.
Individuals and organizations donate serviceable furniture and household items for clients' housing, as well as personal items for use by clients who still reside in local "camps".
We also coordinate volunteer groups to work on our encounter projects by delivering services and personal items to the local camps. Organizations can help by collecting materials for our Encounter Groups to distribute. Individuals interested in joining an encounter group should contact Mike Gordon for more information.
Volunteer groups provide our clients with a hot breakfasts and lunches at our Stokes Street facility. This is an important service that introduces our clients to the facility and the services available to them there. They meet our case workers and get to know our staff. Meals are an important way for us to connect and pave the path that leads to independent, sustainable living.
